Jason Haikara is an entertainment industry and digital marketing executive whose career includes nearly twenty years at Fox Broadcasting Company. Haikara rose through the ranks at FOX as it grew from a two night a week weblet to the top-ranked broadcast television network. After stints in the Affiliate Marketing and National Media departments, Haikara was named the network’s Senior Vice President of On-Air Planning, responsible for the network’s promotion inventory in primetime and sports, including the World Series and Super Bowl.
As SVP of Internet Marketing and National Promotions and, then, SVP of Marketing, Haikara directed all aspects of the network’s online and digital presence, including marketing strategy, creative development, original content production and distribution. During his tenure overseeing digital marketing, TheSimpsons.com won a Webby nomination for Best Television Website and Drive won the first Primetime Emmy nomination for broadband content. Haikara also developed and managed cross-platform marketing campaigns which integrated network advertisers with primetime programs such as Ford, J&J and Coke, directed the network’s public service efforts and oversaw cross-divisional projects and promotional shoots.
After leaving FOX in late 2007, Haikara joined digital studio Filmaka to direct its marketing and publicity efforts and in 2009 became its Co-President adding creative development and production to his responsibilities. Shortly thereafter, Filmaka’s The Ten Commandments of La Vida Loca won the Webby Award for Best Drama Series. On the branded entertainment front, Ford featured Filmaka-produced creative in the Grammy Awards and during the launch of NBC’s Fall Season. Other Filmaka clients included Unilever, Discover Card (with agency The VIA Group), Cisco, SABMiller, Red Bull and Snickers (BBDO).
Haikara is a three-term Co-Chair of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Website Committee and, in 2011, was appointed to its Interactive Media Peer Group Executive Committee. He is the Executive Producer of the feature film The Middle of the Middle and the web series Apathy Apartments.
